Invention of zipper bag 

Zipper Bag has been invented and patented "minigrip" in 1950’s and started to be used as storage bag.It has been licensed to different countries around the world, when the license has expired production and the use has increased more. Today zipper bag is being used almost in every industries and there are many different applications to produces pre-made bags with zipper or FFS (Form-Fill-Seal) applications with zipper.

Zipper is a mechanical profile and it is sealed to the inner layer of the bag therefore there is no chemical like glue which may interfere with the product within the bag.

Zipper is an indispensable element of the new generation flexible Packaging. Today jars, cans that were commonly used in the past are being abandoned and flexible packing is used instead. The zipper is the cap of the new generation packaging.

 

Advantages of zipper bags 

 

  • It is light, when empty it’s volume is very little and light. Storing is very easy, cheap and it doesn’t add any more weight when the end customer carries home.
  • It is attractive, thanks to the new printing techniques, the graphics printed on to the film is very lively, gives better information about the product inside and not effected with outer world like a label does.
  • It is green, it occupies much less space in nature and much less energy is used to transport and store.
  • It is healthy, when a bag is laminated different features can be on the same bag and as a result the need for additives to preserves is less or none
  • It is cheaper, unit cost, transportation cost, plant building cost is less.

Zipper is the cap of the flexible packaging. It adds value to the product inside and helps you differentiate from competition. It does all this by making the end user keep the original packaging while using the product and sometime even the product is finished. Here is how;
